NEC TRIP TO GHANA - UPDATE NUMBER 3.
2019 GRADUATES, REFUNDS AND ALLOWANCES.
Greetings Honorable Members,
There was a though but interesting ride as far as our graduates this year are concerned, and we bring to you recapitulations on NEC’s trip to Ghana in that respect.
NATIONAL SERVES REGISTRATION;
Earlier before the National Executive Council visited Ghana, we had a slightly though time facilitating National Service Registration for both Self-Sponsored and Government-Sponsored students due to time factors, which at a long round ended beautifully in good time with gladness from those who trusted in us.
RETURN TICKETS AND REFUND OF INTERNAL TICKET;
As the practice had been, tickets were secured for all Scholarship Students even before their graduation days. But it was a little different this year due to many factors which highly induced the visit of NEC to get some of these issues resolved once and for all.
The President literally visited the ‘stressful travel agency’ each and everyday for a full month to get all tickets successfully bought one after the other, which all scholarship graduates can attest to.
We promised alongside to aid refund the internal tickets(tickets from various cities to Moscow) of all who fell within the category since there were almost no hopes to see it happen automatically. It came with its own traumas as well but we had it done the hard way.
SHIPPING ALLOWANCES AND NEW NEGOTIATIONS;
Shipping allowances until last year were at 1500USD. The Secretariat however decided to pay a 1000USD to 2018 graduates since there is no fixed amounts in the agreements signed.
On the proof that there was no problems last year when graduates were payed the said reduced amount, they found no reason to revert to the standard amount but resort to pay our 2019 graduates same 1000USD without July stipends, which was duly signed and minuted by the Registrar as a final decision of the secretariat.
The National Executive Council represented by the President visited the secretariat to further negotiate immediately upon receiving the final notification for the payment.
We were able to debate our way through same evening by proof of documents and strong mutualities established on individual bases to win the addition of July stipends and first time ever August stipends to the initial amount signed by the registrar, which brought a 60% increment in favored of our graduates at the eleventh hour, landing us a sum of 1600USD instead of the initial 1000USD.
As at now, all who earlier registered their arrival at the Secretariat have received the said amount, except the few who arrived this December and those who did not confirm their arrival at the secretariat right upon arrival, which have also been processed for disbursement as far as we are concerned.
The National Executive Council reassures you all of our intense servitude to see to the utmost welfare of all, especially those who identify with us.
We seize this opportunity to timely urge all 2020 (Private and Scholarship) graduands to take cognitive note of all the proceedings this year so as to make things easier while we are yet to start arrangements for them.
Bless Ronald Abiti Addo,
